I just had to share this.

Today my 5 yr old son received his biggest Christmas request, a toy musket.

After he had moved all of his Christmas presents to his room, my wife looked in on him. He was sitting on the bed with a blanket spread out and his musket on the blanket.

Wife: What are you doing?

Son: Cleaning my gun. After I use it, it is dirty and I need to clean it.

Sure makes me proud.

Way to go, you have him started in the right direction. You should be proud. Take care, Rick.

I only had one son to share these experiences with, I worried for him during his army years, and now I'm waiting for my five Grandsons, and four Granddaughters to come of age.

One of the girls has already said she wants a longbow and a trade gun for her next birthday. With luck I have them built on time. I think I'm more excited than she is.
