This is a large southern horn that I just finished up today. The horn is about 90% black in color with some oxblood color stripes toward the butt. It is approximately 18 inches long on the outside curve and 3-1/4 inches in diameter at the butt. Strap attachment is via a metal staple in the front of the horn and another metal staple in the hollowed out walnut butt plug. The deer antler spout is lathe turned, applied and pinned. The spout plug is an old rosewood fiddle peg. The 3/4 inch veg tanned leather strap is 48 inches long on the middle adjustment hole and I have allowed for 4 inches of adjustment either way by means of a vintage English harness buckle.
