One thing that I noticed about the rifles, in the link and the one that I bought, is the lock. I really like the Siler Mountain Lock. It is interesting to see the originals, with a very similar lock.

TOW sells the Siler Mountain Lock. The builder offered to switch out the lock on my rifle, to a flintlock, for an extra 100. Siler makes a lock with a rectangle plate, that can be cut to match any shape original lock plate. I found that to be very interesting. But, I didn't want to have a new gun missed around with, so decided to leave the cap lock in place.

Nice link...I'm sure there are variations in style, depending on which area, the rifle was built. Mine is very noticeable different, than Tenn. or Kentucky, but it was supposed to be more like a southwest Va. look.

I see Pennsylvania made rifles for the most part, and single bolt flintlocks are the exception. The one that I own is undoubtedly post 1820 judging by the silver inlays.

Here is a picture of the trigger guard. Doesn't look too good with flash and camera set on macro, but maybe good enough to get an idea of how it was made.

Thank you. Think I will try to build one like this. Looks pretty simple just have to forge weld the rear extension on.

All mine have two lock bolts except for a Tn, .32 flintlock and a little .45 percussion halfstock. No problem with any of them.

The camera was making my rifle look crazy, the cheek piece does not stick out, like the picture shows. Just goes to show how a certain angle can create a totally different look. Kinda like having a baby picture, where the shoes look bigger than the baby.
