Sold pending funds. NOTE: This rifle should not be confused with Mr. Mowrey's later production guns. This is an interesting rifle. Most are familiar with the brass framed Mowrey Ethan Allen style rifles made in Olney, TX. Mowrey also made a smaller number of Hawken style rifles. And then there is this. A custom .54 halfstock with Premium Tiger Maple stock and heavy 34"x1 1/8" barrel. These were special order guns with Bob Roller locks. Mr. Roller told me that Mowrey wanted his (Roller's) name on outside of locks he ordered. In any event, this is a great rifle that is 50-60 years old, but looks almost new. The browned 1:66 barrel has some high edge wear, but no major finish loss. The stock has beautiful grain and few handling marks. LOP is 13.75". Bore is overall very good plus with some small spots of pitting. Nothing heinous or that would interfere with loading. Rifle weighs about 10.6 lbs. $1050 + Shipping.

Beautiful. My money would be on the way if I didn't already have a nice one with a Bill Large barrel.

David what is the history on the Mowrey Hawken's? How many were made. Anyone have any information?
