I owe an apology to the person that made this, I didn't wrie it down, or it got misplaced in our move.
I've got lots of off-my-feet downtime, so I'm finishing some small projects. The haft is of elm, stained with Feibing's medium brown leather dye, the grip is rawhide, and I finished it with beeswax. It needs more beeswax.

Nice Hawk Mike. I assume you plan to use it. I use one I made all the time. I like to cut grape vines off my trees with it and take a walk in my woods. Those grape vines get to be 3-4 inches in diameter and they'll kill your hardwoods if you let them take over. I've been doing this for awhile and soon will have 40 acres cleared of grape vine. Also use it at camp to split kindling
and other uses. Anyway, nice hawk!

There you go!!
What d'ya think?
I like it, I guess that's all that matters. Elm haft, 15 inches long.

Beautiful Mike, this is one mean hawk :hatsoff:
This is not a complaint, just personal preference, I make my hawks/war clubs with long handles, if I can swing it 18 inches or more for use from horseback. Are you going to make a blade sheath? I love the rawhide  Bravo!

No horse, I just wanted it long enough to swing, and short enough to fit in my sash. Yes, there will be a scabbard coming.

And how often have you needed to do that? :rotf:
