Hi Folks,

Here is a spike hawk I engraved. The head is by Stuart Willis, and I did the handle. Stuart made the head from a ball peen hammer. I changed the spike shape a litle bit, but Stuart did a beautiful job. Due to the hardness of the steel, it was a bear to engrave. It took me a while, but I finally got it done and sold and wanted to show some pics.

that is awesome looking, I don't generally like spike hawks as the spikes are usually to long for my liking or got a crazy curve to them but I do like this one an your engraving work is great, really sets it off, love how you ingraved around the sides of the spike to.

That is indeed beautiful. Great work by both of you.
messerist a/k/a Troy Christianson built a spike hawk for me. Left plain, that is what I wanted. It hangs on the wall with my 'hawk collection. As a Rifleman, I have pretty well thinned out the Redcoats around here but it is ready in case needed.

I haven't been a fan of the 'spike hawk', til now! That one, to my eye is beautiful in line and proportion, and you engraving does nothing but enhance what is already there!! Great job all the way around! :hatsoff:

Thanks guys. It was a fun project. I usually spend most of my spare time building guns, but I like messing with the occasional hawk and knife for a change of pace.

Wow!!! Never seen one of my hawks look like that. It's amazing how you took a backwoods blacksmith's work and turned it into art. :hatsoff:

Stuart- you provided the beautiful canvas to work with. "a backwoods blacksmith's work" hah! LOL I'll be in touch for another one.

Thanks again folks. :hatsoff:
