Anybody have an idea how to make a jag that spins freely on the rod? The commercially made Spin Jag looks like a great idea but at $15+ a piece I can't justify buying one. I like to make whatever I can.

If you know someone who has one you could see how its made.
I'm sure it would be easy if you had a metal lathe. :hmm:

A friend made me one. It has a base which screws into the ramrod and a central shaft over which a brass jag (milled of brass round stock) has been inserted, and the end of the cental shaft peened to retain the brass. The brass "jag" spins freely on this central shaft.
