Excellent buck! Great story as well! I can relate to the staying awake part. A few years ago I snuck in to 50 yards of a group of elk that were bedded. I tried so hard to stay awake but eventually dozed off and when I woke up the herd was gone 🤦‍♂️.

Good job getting the Buck. The real important thing is being alone.
The silent waiting and patience got this prize. Being still and
waiting is key. The wind was no doubt favorable. When you are
concerned about or distracted by a partner, silence and stillness
is harder to maintain.
