I see you are from Maryland, DON'T DO ANYTHING!!! except plan on getting up to the gunmakers fair at Dixon's muzzleloading shop the last weekend in July. I can't emphisize enough to get to the fair, there are seminars from builders, all manner of suppliers, everything you can think of, you may even find a rifle in the white that will fill your needs. Osprey, judging from your handle, interest in jeeps and Sikas, I think I recognize you from the refuge forums. I'm a relative newbie at muzzleloading myself and am just up the road in grasonville if you'd like to get together to talk flintlocks and hunting. I've got a .50 Austin and Halleck mountain Rifle you're more than welcome to try out. At 50 yrds its at least as accurate as a coworkers scoped inline! Drop me an email.

Yeah Bunyan, that's me (use the same handle on all forums, must be all the osprey tattoos :grin: ). Have you found Choptank Muzzleloaders? I hit one of their shoots last month, that's what kicked all this into high gear. They're having another July 7 near Inlgeside.

I don't think I've heard of them. I didn't have any plans on the 7th, so I may be there! I go by bunyan on all forums. Makes it easier to keep track of things!

Pretty fun bunch of guys, I had a blast at the last shoot, even got to try a bunch of flintlocks. I think the shoot starts at 9am, cross sticks shoot, at their home range. Update...I have definitely decided to build one. Been soaking up all I can off this site, went to another shoot this weekend and looked at a bunch of guns and talked to guys, and sitting in on a group this week that gets together to build every wednesday night to get some firsthand looksee. Waiting until Dixon's, either going to buy stuff there or order when I get home, gathering fundage until then. :thumbsup:
