Nice job! Man, rail road spikes are some tough iron to work with, i'll give you credit.
Jeff
And i ain`t got no trip hammer either, lots of pounding.
I only mess around with it in the winter, helps to keep warm and good exercise.
I take it you do it for a living?

Here`s a pic of my little set-up, i made the double acting bellows hanging above the forge about 20 years ago.

Thanks wetpowder, a lot a tinkering to make one, a trip hammer would be nice for drawing out the length. Had a nice one once but sold it because i thought i would never use it. Proves that ya should never sell or throw anything away.
Have made a few crosses too.

so what plate thickness did u use. look like 3/4 or 1". for me, i would of put a piece of spring to bring up the top die after each strike.
gota like some of us blacksmiths "junk" we make. only problem is that it weighs so much. :hatsoff:

Someone posted about a rifle holder, a stake that ya pound in the ground, have ya made any of those.
I would like to make one, put some leaf and vine on it and twists.

That is beautiful art. :hatsoff:
Just beautiful :v
Thanks, i made that for a friend that lives in Georgia, he has bunches of those little green lizards in his yard and they just love them.
They also wanted a wall hanging so i made this for them, it`s all steel.
It`s sitting in front of my garage door in the pic so kinda hard to see, it`s four foot tall by around two feet wide.
