Powder fouled out in left barrel of my sxs 12 guage. I don’t have one of the twisty things to put on the ramrod to get the wads out. Having a dove shoot soon and I need a quick fix on getting this load out. Any ideas? Nitro card over powder, three over shot cards over shot.

I'm glad you didn't panic and got the oil can out like some do and then the twist drills and two pack glues 🤦‍♂️
Exactly. I don't understand why some people immediately go down the "I have to drown my powder charge" route. I've pulled many a dry load. Haven't had a problem yet.

Just use commone sense and there will not be issues.

Pull the nipple, trickle powder in there, knock the gunn a bit to settle as much powder in there as it will take, replace the nipple, cap and shoot in a safe direction.
You can usually get enough in there to eject the load.

What @necchi said; if it doesn’t work the first time, it’ll work the second. If it doesn’t work the second time usually works the third…and so on. The only way I clear a dry ball or fouled powder charge. Oh, and even works on stuck patches…

What a shame, over already.
Dang it! Fixed already?!?
I just sat down with a big bowl of popcorn!!
Come on, you guys know better. This should still be good for around 4 pages or so.
By the end of the day (I'm being "generous") at least one Ralph Wiggum will jump in here with his best answer of how to clear this,,,, completely missing that the problem has already been solved.

My first stuck object was a jag that had come unscrewed. I took it to Siegels Guns and asked the gunsmith to pull the breech. (I was new) He told me to go home and shoot it out. I thought he was crazy. Everyone knows a plugged bore in a rifle will cause the barrel to blow up. But, I went home and put two 22 shells worth of 3f down the nipple seat. Knowing that all would be going to Hell in the next second, I pulled the trigger. Thus started my education with black powder.
