Fitter's profile says he's from San Diego. Maybe he's Claude's alter ego. :rotf: Say's his hobbies are gunbuilding, and photography. All his posts are snipes, he's contributeded nothing here. Hasn't shared any pic's of his builds, or proposed solutions to any problems. I would suggest we just ignore him, he's not even worth responding to. Or maybe Claude can go over to his house and slash his tires :rotf:

And it's further amazing that those members are allowed to continue having access to the MLF when they've made unprovoked personal attacks on others...:shake:...that's why I could never be a moderator...have no patience for that kind of behavior

Their support of their products is second to none. (Aside from the Cherokee/Seneca line which is understandable considering the effects of the fire)

Crackstock, what do you mean?????

Some parts on older discontinued models are no longer warrented by T/C. Like Crackstock stated, I believe those models T/C no longer has any inventory of parts.

Cody,

There was a line of great T/C smallbore sidelock rifles that were available in .32, .36 and .45 cal. They were (In my opinion) better made than the Hawken and Renegade lines.

Sadly there was a factory fire and these rifles are no longer produced or supported by T/C. This was especially unfortunate since these were often used to bring young shooters in MLing. They were lightweight and reasonable in price. The price has climbed steadily since.

". Lot's of T/C's and CVA have blown up"

If so....probably from operator error not from faulty equipment, which can happen to the finest kitchen table made gun... your comments are hardly worth a second glance, rather sad in fact.

I am not going to join the urinating contest at this point, but I want to hear some evidence of T/Cs that were properly loaded and maintained blowing up. The same for CVAs (other than the Apollo inline POS that they warn about on their website). I keep hearing rumors that it has happened "a lot", but no one has posted dates, times, newspaper stories, photos, etc. I have seen some rather reprehensible firearms throw lead without self destruction - I have yet to see a TC or a CVA that has or would do that.

Step up to the plate - give some evidence.

Over the thirty years I have been around this sport I have only seen one report of a T/C blowing up and that was when somebody loaded it with smokeless. It did a job on the rifle as you would suspect. Don't remember if the guy survived the experience.

I did see the bolster on a CVA Pennsylvania let go at a shoot one time. Never did find the bolster so I can't tell you exactly what happened. I have shot a CVA Mountain Rifle for thirty years and have taken a few CVAs apart to clean them when they were not properly cared for. That setup is much stronger than the normal bolster screwed into the side of the barrel. I don't really know what caused that bolster to let go.

Well, that certainly is a horrible safety record! One dumba$$ blows up his TC with smokeless and a random failure of a bolster on a CVA. Yup, they are junk I tell ya...

oooh haha ha HA! that title got my attention! I Was going to remind you to replace those chevy bumpers with heated bumpers so your hands wont get to cold when youre pushing that ford powered chevy home :rotf:

Well, I was gonna say put a Dodge engine and tranny into it, but then they just get too bogged down 'cause you gotta carry two or three x-tra chrysler tranny's around when the installed one goes :rotf:

Well, my least favorite grandson, rolled my 89 F250 with the 300" six. And a fellah offered me a 50 somethin' Cheby pickup without an engine or tranny, so...I believe I will. :v

In addition to the newcomer's arrogant and uniunformed attitude, he obviously has a reading & comprension problem... :rotf:...I've never seen a single post on the Internet that talks about helicoils in a TC barrel.
:rotf:

The guy is obviously a troll trying to provoke a fight...the good news is Claude has a provision for such people: The Ignore Feature :applause:

Friend of mine that just got started with Flintlocks bought a used .45cal TC Hawken Flintlock...had the old style lock...sent it to TC and in a week had a complete brand new Flint lock assembly in his mailbox...no way to improve on that customer service!

Hat's off to Thompson / Center...one of the very finest US firearms companies there is!
:hatsoff:

Aw, 'cmon RB. Maybe he has issues with cast parts.... we've never heard that one before, have we? :hmm: :rotf:

Helicoil is STRONG! Guys like me with modded 350 buicks and the buick v6's drill out the 1/2" main bearing holes and drill it out to 9/16" for strength. Theres a guy with a 87 buick grand national. 3.8 Litre v6, 500hp on a helicoiled bottom end!
