very pleased to see how you rough shaped that blank then let the buttplate do the talking. fewer and fewer people are scratch-building anymore and yet it's the most rewarding.
The barrel, or more accurately, the breech face determines where the lock pan should go (within a 1/8" zone in front of face), the lock sear determines where the trigger should go, the trigger determines where the guard should go, the trigger also determines how far back the butplate should go (pull length). Only when all these are in place can serious wood removal be started.
Save your pesos, though, as a Lehigh is one the harder guns to make.
