You have to leave the willow branch in there till it starts to sprout roots and then circle the out house three times and plant it on the far side of the out house. If you do that you will never dry ball. But that is only if the willow grows. If it dies, you have to start all over.
 
No need, as it was already mentioned we eral times here already. However if you think we're wrong please enlighten us on exactly what you think "seasoning" does?
I can not enlighten you as it seems you have pretty well made up your minds. I have a regular method of cleaning my black powder rifles. I prefer bore butter on a hot barrel and in a hot barrel after the barrel is clean. Does it season my bore? Don't know. Just know that I have never seen rust on my rifles.
