Never heard of it till this weekend and was wondering if you fella's can give me the scoop on it!

Hopefully it can shoot mini-balls accurately? :idunno:

Black Mountain Magnum? I had one, 1-28 twist, black composite stock and QLA at the muzzle on mine if I can remember correctly. Didn't have mine long enough to really work up a proper load. Looked a lot like a TC NewEnglander.

Basically a heavy duty fast twist version of the New Englander. And for some reason rated to 150gr max whereas the New Englander is rated to 120gr max load.

And for a time was available in a pistol-gripped, walnut stocked version as the High Plains Sporter.

I own one, came with fiber optic sights 1-28 my rifles favorite load is 90 grains pyrodex p with a 600 grain no excuse bullet still haven't recovered a bullet yet from any hog ive shot

Mine has a musket nipple as well and since my local muzzleloader shop carries musket caps I'll probably just stick with it! Besides, the bigger caps should be much easier to handle under duress & cold weather situations!

Don't ask me why, but I have three of them. Two 50's and a 54. I also have some New Englander's. The BMM replaced the New Englander's forward tang mounting wood screw with a modest thru-bolt that screws into an additional tapped hole in the trigger guard. I tried minnie balls in my 54, but had to load it way down to stop blowing out the skirts. I'm guessing they did not like the QLA? All of mine do like maxie balls over 100gr of Pyrodex RS. We have found this load to be very effective on deer. And we use the #11 percussion caps. Good luck with your gun!

Played around with it shooting 3f goex...3 shot groups from 80 to 120 grains in 10 grain increments! Best group obtained with 80 grains, Cloverleaf at 50 yards!
No misfires using the musket caps, and they were much easier to handle!
