I believe that Thompson-Center and Investarms shared design features and built to the same design dimensions, but the T/C arms were always an American made product.
Right on. IMHO, the 1:48" twist is the best all around choice for prb shooting. Museums I have visited that show nomenclature of it's old originals indicate the 1:48 for 90+% of it's rifles.Don't let anyone tell you that 1-48 will not work with a patched ball. In my limited experience 1-48 can drive tacks with a patched ball.
Thompson/Center used the 1 in 48" twist so that the shooter could achieve acceptable accuracy with both the Maxi-Ball or a patched round ball.
Like any type of shooting you need to experiment and work up the load that performs best in your rifle.
I have seen this many times but if memory serves (which is not as good as it use to ), the 1:48 twist was manufactured and marketed quite a while before the maxi was brought out.
