Tannic Acid & Brass

Looking for advice. Working on a .40 cal. Tennessee rifle w/curly maple stock. Thinking about using tannic acid in conjunction with Aqua Fortis. Was watching Jim Kiblers' video using tannic acid. I really liked the results. But . . . what effect will it have on the brass inlays?

None. Any slight change will only be superficial and will polish out with the normal finishing process. An example:

They will just have to be cleaned up, both from the stain and the finish.
