FYI..

Be careful loading an oversized ball in a smoothbore…especially bare.

There’s no rifling for the patch & ball too squeeze into.
Thus you just created your next thread or you’re off down the search feature road…👍

How too remove a stuck ball?🤷‍♂️😎👍
So far I've haven't had any problems with it. As a matter of fact I have had to, well not 'had to' more like 'chose to' , pull a .562 ball in the past and I had no problems in doing so. I mean using soft lead your just swaging the ball into the muzzle. The best thing to me was hitting steel with it at 50 and 75yds with authority ! :thumb:

Thanks for the warning!! This gun actually has rifled bore, but I'll store away the advice for the smoothies :thumb:

They are not as forgiving as a rifled barrel..
Once fouled, that bare ball gets snug quickly sometimes..
Soft fouling not as big an issue as hard fouling.👍

Also try a .562 unlatched RB you'll be pleasantly surprised.......
Well, my .562 balls arrived and I took one out and sat it atop the muzzle and zap, it went straight down to the bottom! Ah, I thinks, something is amiss. The rifle was advertised as a 56 cal. so I assumed so, didn't try to measure. I not taken the barrel out of the stock, so yesterday I knocked the pins out and separated the barrel. Turns out it's a Colerain with a 58 stamped on the bottom! The .562 might work with the patching I have, .015, it's reasonably snug without pushing it down too far as to not be able to get it back out without a ball puller. I ordered some .570 balls and I see Lee makes a .575 double cavity mould, TOW has it in stock.
