TC Cherokee/Seneca nipple wrench

Have a TC Cherokee with .32 and .45 barrel and have several nipples I orderd directlly from TC last year. My question concerns the nipple wrench because TC no longer has them.

Anyone know the CORRECT wrench for these nipples?

Correct wrench would be the one that fits, no matter the brand. Take a dial caliper and measure your flats, then measure some wrenches. I've never had a problem finding a good fit. In fact I think my wrench is from CVA and fits Traditions and all the TCs I've tried it on.

The nipple size on the Cherokee/Seneca is not the standard #11, so none of my Traditions, CVA or TC wrenches work. A friend has about 11 cap-n-ball revolvers and numerous #11 and #10 wrenches, none of his wrenches work either.

I will have to order a nipple wrench "sight unseen" so knowing which wrench to order, and who has them instock, will make life much easier for me and the seller.

The only nipples smaller are the ones made in Italy and used mainly on the revolvers produced there. Call TOTW and ask them for the proper size. It will save you a lot of grief, and allow you to order the right size. If not Track, then call Dixie Gun Works. Certainly their staff knows what size you need.

I also have the cherokee in 45 and 32. I use the wrench that came with the T/C Cherokee on my Lyman great plains rifle and have borrowed a couple of different nipple wrenches at shoots and they fit my cherokee fine. Is it possible the nipples you ordered are different than the stock nipples?

Make your own to fit. A piece of steel, a hacksaw, drill and file is all you need. Will probably take you about 30 minutes.

I use the T/C Wedge Pin Puller/ Nipple Wrench, T/C Part # 7062, with my .45 T/C Seneca. Works, and fits the nipple fine. If I remember right, I use a Sears Craftsman open-end wrench (very small, part of an ignition set *) that's a size 5mm -- and it fits perfect!

I have been using an open end wrench since I got the rifle last year, it works but is a slight pain due to how low the nipple sits.

Gonna try and make one out of some metal stock I have onhand, the thought never crossed my mind till I read Black Hands post. If that dont work out too good then I'll order one.
