I received a lock today from a store where I got my barrel and I understood it was a TC lock which they threw in free. Its not a TC as the plate is smooth no engraving color case hardened and no mfg. marking. It looks just like a TC and "almost" fits the inletting. I've been away from traditional guns for a long time so I don't know of any TC clones but this sure seems to be one. If anyone knows anything about any TC copies please fill me in. I am going to call the store and see if they know where this lock came. It looks and feels like a decent lock and I would like to use it cause I think it looks better than a TC but I don't want a pot metal piece of junk.

I will try to get a pic up tomorrow.I looked at that lock TOW sells and its a leaf spring type by L&R not a coil spring like this one.

To me, a Lyman lock looks like a T/C lock. I am not sure about all the different locks that either T/C or Lyman made. But my early Lyman GPR perc. lock is smooth faced.

Not that familiar with cussin locks, but I'm thinking it a Lyman lock. Easy to tell is the TC's will have inch threads on the screws, and the Lymans will be metric.

Here is a pic...I think Well that didn't work well. I can't seem to figure out the photo thing. I could email someone a couple.

And this

I tried it with my L&R TC replacement trigger and it dosn't work. It will release but not the way it should...

That third screw, holding the trigger sear in is like the Investarms/Lyman lock.
Could be and early Investarms(??) :idunno:

If it doesn't release proper right now it could be it just needs a little lube to assist the fly to work proper.

I looked at the L&R Lyman rpl. lock at TOW and it appears identicle except for the spring. Do you know the size of the lock bolt/screw as I need to get one at the hardwear store if the have it.I had to file some edges on the plate to get it to set into the TC inletting. The lock cost me O so I thought better to file that then cut the wood, just in case I need to get a TC lock.
