I've got a couple in .50 Both bought NIB as old stock; paid $200 each. One has the TC tang peep sight and has taken deer. It's also a great little plinker.
For deer I shoot Maxi-Hunters over a lubed felt wad and 90 gr. Pyrodex RS. Accuracy is a bit inconsistent with the Maxis, but they thump the deer good.
For plinking I shoot a .490 PRB over 30 gr. Pyrodex P using a .010 patch. Easy to load, stays accurate all afternoon without swabbing, and the patches look good enough to use again.
I Particularly like to use mine for hunting in bad weather or if there's a lot of snow falling off the trees. There's nothing for the moisture to damage. Compact, carries nicely, and cleans up easy after shooting. One of the handiest guns I own and a favorite in the woods.
