Well, this never happens to me, but I have a line on a package deal that I consider to be pretty good. All guns are at least a 9 out 10 and maybe better.

All 4 are T/C .50 cal and are:

1. Hawken
2. Renegade
3. White Mtn Carbine (pretty certain never been shot), with a sling
4. Scout with synthetic stock.

About 150 maxi balls and then some other balls and whatever other supplies are still there.

Guy will sell all 4 for 550.00 Not sure I can pass that deal up!

Oooohhhh.. I'd like to get a White Mountain Carbine!

Zonie has a phrase that I like, "frinkled with".

I read hear a lot and folks are always talking about how they "frinkled with" a T/C Hawken or Renegade by changing triggers to Davis, swapping out locks to Lyman, swapping out frizzen's, re-finishing stocks and changing blueing to browning, changing sights and on and on.

What does such frinkling have to do with the prices on T/C rifles and how many original T/C rifles still exist and how does that affect prices with such changes?

Why? ?

Why would they do that ? ? The TC parts are excellent.

? ? ? ?

I agree TC are excellent before i even got mine i thought if the trigger aint right ill get a Davis. i love the trigger on my renegade best 189.00 ive ever spent

I agree. The triggers on the Thompson Center sidelocks have all been great. Good quality overall.

Of course I understand wanting to refinish and browning, etc., but nothing is wrong with a TC lock or trigger so why spend big bucks to replace?.

necchi - I remember you from GBO, I was wondering what happened to you. When it comes to difference of opinions, you gotta let stuff roll off your back like water on a duck. Remember, you can't :slap: fix stupid.

Although the TC parts are pretty good there are some of them that could be better.

That's why companies like Davis and L&R make replacement parts.

As for frinkeling, there's guys who will always frinkel with stuff.

If they change stuff for the better, they are improving it by frinkeling with it.

If they change stuff for the worse, like installing a 1970 CVA bridle-less lock they will have totally frinkled it up. :(
