I don't know if that would work. The teflon patches I have seen all have a dry coating on them that looks like a coat of paint on one side of the patch. It is probably a completely different formula than your can of teflon from the bicycle shop.
Hopefully somebody else will be able to give you a better answer but I wouldn't use the spray can.
