Hello,

Seems my post disappeared. I went hunting in the Hill Country of Texas, near Fredricksberg. There was a stream there, and it was filled with flint. I collected some. When I got home, I ineptly managed to shape a piece for my flintlock. Sparks real well, and is durable. My question is, how do I make flints? I do not see myself knapping flints, too time consuming and wastefull. Does anybody have any recommendations? What kind of saw should I buy? And no, I am not going to send everybody and their grandmother flint. After I learn how to make flints, I may sell them for a reasonable price.

Thanks,
Bill

Thanks for the link to the book, "On the Manufacture of Gun-Flints." Just wish I could actually hold it in my hands.
