Yep Simeon has really made a name for himself.

I will say beaver bill makes a mighty fine throwing hawk.
I totally agree that Beaver Bill makes excellent throwing hawks and knives. I also have a wonderful pipe hawk made by Bill.

I'm no axe afficionado but this guy is from NC blue ridge mountains and I know all of his stuff is hand forged. I saw some vids about his axes. Google Hoffman Blacksmithing

Stash David (Ohio) made this one. It is a smoake hawk, so I don't throw it.
Smokes very well though!

I have two Beaver Bill products and I don't think you can do better. He even let me run the blower at Dixon's while making mine!

I personally don't know why anyone would throw their hawk (a last-ditch personal defense weapon made for hand-to-hand combat) but I love my smoking hawk and shooting bag hatchet.

As far as historically correct goes, some years ago a friend of mine, who was a collector, managed to obtain a tomahawk head excavated at Braddock's battlefield on the Monongahela. He sent it to Jeff Miller and had three copies made, one for himself and one of each of his sons. I called Jeff and told him to make four and send one to me. It is an exact copy, but in not pretty or impressive. Just historically accurate. If it were on a table at a gun show, I doubt if anyone would pay it any attention. I also have an original French axe, but again, not impressive. It all depends on what you want.
Could you post a photo? That is super interesting.
