Came across this cased Navy for sale and was interested to see that the vendor noted that the case was a reproduction.[he’s known as a good guy].
What pleased me most was that the case was made by an old friend, the late Fred Breakwell.
His name is strategically stamped on the box where its removal would be fairly obvious [mid way between hinges] and it is also written under the small cover.
Fred could have faked cases with ease but he was an honest bloke.

I’ll just add that part of Fred’s artistry was that he could make cases appropriate to the condition of the pistol.
Mostly he made new cases and from Australian red cedar, second hand cedar furniture was cheap and plentiful at the time and wardrobes, especially the front doors were very good.
I made some cases myself, but never in Fred’s league.
