Thank you!Welcome to the forum. I did a lengthy building thread and that should give you the needed information. Look up Clay Smith Trade Gun Build. Be happy to try and help if you need more info.
Thanks Red.Beautiful! I mean, not as pretty as a Traditions Kentucky, but really nice…
I kid, I kid! That is some gorgeous work!
Why did they go from octagonal to round on the trade guns? Was there a cost benefit there or something? Seems that would have made more work, and this a more expensive gun.
-Red, wishing he could do work like that…
oh yeah?!probably should get after my 3 i got working. AND, i cast my opinion into the wind here goes, NOT SHINEY! ITS UNDIGNIFIED! there you may now begin the STONING!TDM you did a great job....Now if I would get my lazy butt moving I'd get the four I got going done....
Bronze wool(less cleanup) and maybe sum old wax+blo+terpentine polishLooks good, I like the finish on the barrel. If you dont want that shine on the stock, once it fully cures you could rub it back with some rottenstone mixed on a denim or felt pad with some BLO. That would get you more of a satin finish instead of shiny.
Thanks.Beautiful job!
