Why did they go from octagonal to round on the trade guns? Was there a cost benefit there or something? Seems that would have made more work, and this a more expensive gun.

oh yeah?!probably should get after my 3 i got working. AND, i cast my opinion into the wind here goes, NOT SHINEY! ITS UNDIGNIFIED! there you may now begin the STONING!

Looks good, I like the finish on the barrel. If you dont want that shine on the stock, once it fully cures you could rub it back with some rottenstone mixed on a denim or felt pad with some BLO. That would get you more of a satin finish instead of shiny.

Bronze wool(less cleanup) and maybe sum old wax+blo+terpentine polish
