I've been considering a 1851 Navy recently. What kind of accuracy can you get from these are 15 yards?

I have a '60 army from the Colt blackpowder shop and at 15 yards it will shoot a ragged hole. I also have a pietta '58 rem. that will shoot just as well. If you want one I say go for it. Work up a load and it will do just fine.

I don't think you can go wrong with the '51 Navy. Shooting at 15 yards should allow for some nice groups. The '51 Navy is just a natural in most folk's hand's. They point very well, (something in my opinion that most manufacture of these replica's got right.)

If the grip feels good in your hand, the chances of it doing what you want is greatly improved. I like the steel frame revolver's. They allow for a heavier charge if you desire that. They are also better balanced. :imo:

I have owned and shot one for over twenty years, and I've got no complaints.

Ditto for me, at fifteen yards you should be putting all the balls through a ragged hole most of the time.

Raven,

They shoot like a .38 special - one of the most handsome of the Colts IMHO and should be a tack driver with a little practice.

I bought a brace of them from Cabela's this spring and they are great! Can't say what they do on paper, only shot a couple cylinders at paper. However at cowboy targets they are Boss! I've run several hundred rounds through them so far no major problrms. Go for it you will not regret them and if you do I may buy them from you gentlu used. ;-)
