Howdee all,

Before I blast away, in the forums, I'd like to say...

Keep in mind that opinons are like, and yes we all have one, and they all do.

I own 2 rifles, One we wont talk about . It shoots them new fangled cartridge things.

The second one Im building now. It will be a late Virginy southern style John Sheetz rifle. 45 cal 42in swamped barrel. Chamber's late Ketland lock, and all steel furiture.

In my opinion. store bought rifles dont come close to ones you make yourself. I have owned, modifed, and shot many manufactured ones for year.

YOU can make a killer front stuffer for less than a grand. With home hand tools. a few books and the guys around here.

Im a retired army guy who has been working on modern firearms from a young age. My father was a master weaponsmith. I am not. After I make my rifle, I plan on shooting it all the rest of my life.

I hope to learn a lot from you, I hope you can learn a little from me.

First lession:

Flinklocks fire faster than caplocks. Firearms thru history have NOT gotten better, they have gotten faster loading.

A half barrel twist is the ideal length for a barrel.

cya in the forums :)
