Just got home from bow camp in Michigans Upper Penninsula. We did pretty good for a group of stick shooters. I carried the knife and used it whenever the opportunity presented.

The Beagle on the stool is my dog Dolly. Early in the week we had a bear that was coming into camp several nights in a row. We were afraid he would pull a deer off the pole. One evening a little after dark I let Dolly out of the cabin to do her business. So looked toward the deer pole and took off toward it barking as loud as she could. A black object that looked like a stump in the moonlight took off crashing into the woods. We didn't have any more trouble from the bear after that so we thought she had earned the right to pose in the picture with us.

Longhunter,
Dolly did good! Is there a story
behind the crutch-man. Now that is devotion
to the hunt.
snake-eyes :hmm:

The crutch man, "Little Tim", had a foot operation that he thought would keep him from hunting camp this year but he talked his doctor into letting him go.

Tim took a nice doe with his longbow from a ground blind, not an easy task with that kind of handicap. We were all very happy for him. :applause:

Hey longhunter,

You look like the guy who sells those shirts you're wearing in the picture.

GO STICKBOWS!!!!

Yep yer right, the long length not only keeps you warm but it has a slimming effect. If you can't lose it, hide it... :haha: :rotf:

Great shots (deer and camera). :applause:

Many years back (1981) my wife went hunting with me and she had a broken foot in a cast. I am somewhat unique in NY in that when I take my wife's doe permit into the woods, she goes with it. Two crutches (motorcycle accident - one her own, not with me). I shot a buck at first light and, while cleaning that, she said "there's a doe!" and fired at it. It took off and by then I was able to send one after it, too. The doe (with two holes - what I get for not being trusting) piled up not far away.

Then we faced the task of two deer, two guns, one hunter on crutches and some distance to drag. It was like that fox and chickens across the river word problem.

Great knife and sheath WildRose does some fine work thats fur sure ! Good hunting pic to you guys did real well !
