We've got the same hare here in southern Ontario, they were really numerous about 50 years ao and still quite common. They were transplanted here(probably by the same people that thought Starlings and Carp were a good idea :td: ) and I believe Australia as well where they did really well I hear. Wikipedia says they are found in New York as well
