Your carving is exceptionally well done! :master: As for your "trouble maker," (She's a cutie! She gets that from Mom, right?) wait until she starts DATING BOYS!!! You'll be able to look back at this rifle and laugh!!! :crackup:
 
It's come a long way from starting out like this.... I'm really getting tired of working on this rifle. I'm waiting on a new barrel from Rice, the original was bent. And once it get here, I'm going to spend a Saturday finishing it. It's going to be a really interesting rifle. It has worm stains all over it and should make it unusual. The curl in the wood is fantastic.

I hate kits !!! If you think a Chambers kit just snaps together, think again. You have to do a lot of work to make it look right. I had to re-do the cheek piece, lock mortice, etc, etc, and etc.... grrr
 
thats one purty piece of wood ,
if it will make you feel better,i was drilling the holes on the toe plate on my sitting fox rifle last monday,the drill hung up and snaped the bit driving the broken piece thtough the top of my finger nail on my left hand (does your wife make house calls) :cry::redface: :shake: :rolleyes:
i think you might be getting your barrel from l.c.pretty soon,my barrel just arrived. he had a few equipment problems over the last couple of months, not to mention the storms up that way over the last few weeks. :thumbsup: :thumbsup: :relax:
