FOR SALE Thompson Center .50 Hawken Flintlock

I have a .50 cal. T/C Hawken flintlock for sale that I bought used. I say “used,” but it looks unfired, with perfect bore, bluing, and nicely figured wood. Other than some scrapes on the frizzen from dry firing, the lock has no marks or burns. Will try to post pictures when I get a better hosting site than Photo Bucket, but will send upon request. $600 plus $25 shipping.

If it hasn't been fired, looks like someone used up a couple of flints playing with it by looking at the frizzen. What is the white material between the lock and the barrel? Is it a filler where the lock might not fit snug against the barrel?

Yes, as stated in my first post, it certainly has been at least dry fired. Regarding “filler,” no, there is nothing like that on the rifle and it must just be the lighting. The wood to metal fit is among the best I’ve seen on a T/C.

I have its twin, but mine has seen quite a bit of lead down the barrel. It's a very good shooting piece. Properly flinted and it always fires, Accurate and short enough to free stand fire without tipping over.

McClura, thanks for bringing that white material between the lock and barrel to my attention. I took the lock off the stock and found it was some kind of adhesive paper. Don’t know why it was on there. In any case, I took a photo of the lock as it currently looks.

is it a 1 inch barrel or 15/16 inch?

I'm pretty sure with the Hawken Model only the .54 caliber had a 1 inch barrel.

This is a nice one, that's for certain.

That adhesive was probably from being new and unfired! Nice rifle.
