A friend of mine has a pretty old Thompson Center Hawken kit that has been unopened since his deceased father in law bought it years ago. It has a stainless steel barrel and the stock seems to be fancy maple. Does anyone have an idea of the value as I would like to buy it and put it together.

I am looking at a TC already built from a kit. They want 145 for it compared to a manufactured Hawkens for 300 at the gun shop. These are used prices.

May be wrong, but do not think T/C made any kit Hawken's with stainless steel barrels or maple stocks. Barrel is probably in the white. Stock is likely walnut. Have seen a few stainless steel barrel Hawkens that were factory finished.

Value is up to approx. $175 - $250. At gunshows I attend have seen nicely finished kit Hawkens not selling for asking prices of $275 and up. If priced around $200 they usually sell.

Seldom see unassembled, unfinished kit T/C's for sale.
