Thoughts on my new Brown Bess Style carbine.

I wanted to get your thoughts on my new bess style carbine. I was sold this gun by LLCranford3, whom I highly recommend and has been great to work with. He bought this gun thinking it may be a Pagett, but has since found out it is earlier than the Pagett. No markings on the lock, there is a V/G marking on the hammer, and British proofs on the barrel. I thought it was a neat piece and wanted to share it here, and get everyone's thoughts. Thanks

I am not suggesting that it is one of these, but my old Yeomanry regiment was issued with 26” barrelled Bess carbines in the Napoleonic wars for the troopers. Cobbled together by the Tower from the used parts bins to stop the flow of whinging complaint letters from the county Lord Lieutenant downwards that they only had a few pistols and those for only a few troopers in each squadron. As this one has a captured loading rod it is likely for someone mounted on a horse, hence thinking of cavalry.
