Thoughts on why he shoots to the right.

You did not mention if he is right or left handed? Is he left eye dominant or right eye dominant? I am right handed, but left eye dominant. When I shoot long guns I must close or cover my left eye. If I don't my left eye instinctively takes over and I will shoot to the left.

He is R handed, & R eye dominate.

Squeezing the grip, or yanking the trigger could be the cause for a right hander.
I think dry firing with a wood flint will help with determining the cause.

I went thru this with all of my flinters, and even started a thread on here that was long... very long. A lot of good advice, things tried, problem persisted... no flinch, nothing funny. Just adjusted my sights to compensate and moved on with life.

I just did the same today. All of my offhand shots are either dead on or to the right. They never go left. I finally bumped my rear sight about a zillipeter to the left. I try again next shooting session. It may well be my eye issues as Retina damage causes distorted vision in my right eye.

Without actually seeing him shoot, if he's not flinching, several things could cause it. Right hand pressure and inconsistent placement. Fighting his Natural Point of Aim. Right hand movement during trigger pull. Right elbow position. Inconsistent cheek weld.

I don't think he's moving his head off the stock as that almost always results in hitting high. I think it's probably something with how he's using his right hand.
