He misspelled "definitely" He is definitely a gentleman. He will engage in a lengthy conversation about black powder rifles, to those who want to learn more about them.

I used to live 20 miles from him. The only thing I didn't like is I couldn't afford a new rifle every time I was there. What others have said about him being a nice guy isn't kidding.

I lost his phone number. Can someone post it?

I don't think he has a problem with it being on the net.. lol, he has an add on the net, at the NMRLA website.

His presence on the 'net must relatively new. When I wanted to visit his place less than 2 years ago, everyone suggested he did not have a website & I could find nothing. Somebody on this site eventually gave me a number.

BTW, the number Mr. Curtis gave me is not the one you published, fwtw. Maybe he didn't want my dog to come back. lol

Believe it or not and I'll swear and hold my hand to God its only 65 grains of 3f. Camera just clicked at the right moment.

Was at his house a week or so ago and asked about a website. He said why I have more work than I can do now. I asked how fare out he was on building rifles and he just smiled and said a long time !!

Would you mind PMing the one you have.. I have been unable to get an answer at the one from his ad.. Want to go down next week, hopefully Monday.

the phone number in his add is a good one...just keep trying, he sometimes out in the shop, a way out in his shop..... :surrender:

Was that also 65 grains of bp in the primer pan?

I stopped to see him Sunday, & he is doing fine. You should call him before ya go see him. He stays busy, so if he doesn't answer the phone, just leave a message on his answering machine & he will call ya when he gets back. 615-654-4445 is the correct number.

I think he maybe in Fl. at this time for the Alifia Rondy. He told me just before Christmas he was going down there. I think it started this week end.

Thanks,

Answering machine must be full.. Rang about 10 times and then went to a "enter your code" message each time I called.

I didn't know there was a rondy in Fla, probably where he is at. Won't be in the shop on Monday then anyways. :(

Tip is a really great person ,several yrs ago my wife and I were at the Twin Oaks Shoot (Archery)near Clarksville,A friend of mine Roger Sells tould me to go by Tips while I was out that way so at noon one day we ran over to his shop but he was not open , as we were starting to leave he drove up from his house and opened up the shop for us,he just likes to talk guns with you,any way FOUR HOURS later we walked out with a new 54 cal barrel, and a feeling like we had just visited with one of the Greats in ML building,if I had only had about 1500 extra dollars on me oh well maybe someday.
