tipi or wall tent

JD, my 15 x 15 footer is plenty big enough for four hunters, all their gear, a wood stove, food and we don't have to sleep on the ground, there is plenty of headroom for everyone who has tried it.

When my wife and two kids come along we actually have a queen sized bed for us and two twin beds with air matresses for the girls plus the wood stove...like I said plenty of room to spare.

Even the smaller pyramid is plenty big enough for two large people. The pole does not get in the way in the 15 footer but it does sometimes in the smaller Pyramid, in that case you can set a few poles for external use and the problem is solved.

Another advantage is that only one person can set up a Pyramid tent all by themselves. With two Indian style Tipi doors you can get plenty of cross breeze on those hot days. Add a fly out one door and life is good...just gotta love those Pyramids :thumbsup:

WOW big tent! Well as much as I love tipis, I think its a good decision. For tipis to really be effective you need all the right furnishings, and that takes a lot of time and a lot of extra $$$. Of course, there's nothing that can compare to a well furnished tipi- that's luxury!!

We have owned and used both tepees and wall tents, and each have their advantages. While both were nice, have to admit, a nice large wall tent with high side walls, was ever so much more accommodating for us.

Recalling memories of high country hunting camps on those cold mornings, with a wood burning sheep herder stove blazing, that wall tent was not just a tent, it was home.

I have owned many tipi's, I love them, the only problem is they have a hole in the roof :haha:
I switched to a R.K. wall tent this year and never looked back. It's nice to have a wood stove instead of a smokey fire,
