Mods time to close this. Its gone way off track..
So you're saying that I, within spitting distance of Ohio, can use my AR-10 chambered in 6.5 CM for deer season? You can use any center fire cartridge firearm except 22 rim fire. Shotguns, pistols, revolvers, crossbows, long bows, compound etc. are all legal. Yes you can use your muzzleloaders too..! Flintlock, percussion, in line. Even your b.p. pistols or revolver. I think I'll use my seven shot bolt action 50 cal BMG. Them whitetails are tough...lol
Just go online and double check the Michigan hunting rules.. The Upper Peninsula rules are different. Cheers
Ah but, you're in the thumb. I'm 35 miles NW of Toledo. The county is agriculture for most part. Even today we have less than 100,000 people in the county. In the past I would just go out to a farmer I knew and ask permission. Nary a problem to find a place to hunt. For private.. Anything along that stretch of river.. right on the river bank. You'll probably not get permission
Anything public is Detroit.. the public is real good before gun season opens.. it's still not easy though

I don't find things in the south to be too bad. Lenawee county is my home county and has been ignored by the state for over 60 years. And I am here because my 87 year old mother is still keeping her home here. Like you I have nothing good to say about Detroit. And have always felt we should bull doze it over to Windsor and give it to Canada. Might start a war though. Ann Arbor is a college town on steroids. If you want something college, that's the place to go. Lansing? Wish it were closer to Canada! Wish too Gretchen would stay there. Hillsdale county is a good one. Much like Lenawee but better schools and lots of farms.I think your confused about where I hunt. I'm in the Northwest corner of Michigan. You can't pay me enuff to get near Detroit, Ann Arbor, Lansing or any place else in Southern Michigan.! Only time I'm in Southern Michigan is when I'm driving out of Michigan....lol
No they should not. IMHOThey should allow dogs to run deer.
No they should not. IMHO
I've hunted with dogs in other states and it just isn't right. Plus it promotes the image of beer swilling red necks with the dogs howling in the distance.
That's the best way to do it.Ah but, you're in the thumb. I'm 35 miles NW of Toledo. The county is agriculture for most part. Even today we have less than 100,000 people in the county. In the past I would just go out to a farmer I knew and ask permission. Nary a problem to find a place to hunt.
