We have two first place winners here today, Togo and Yours Truly! We had a get together today with some random targets and steel ringing in preparation for the main shoot which was an elimination match, 1/2 gallon water jugs at 100 yards benchrest. I hit the first jug and all the other 11 shooters missed which made me The Winner! The prize was a bunch of hoots and jeers about being lucky which I ignored while I was putting up my rifle for the day. Having been around for a lot of years I know when to quit. The rest of the sorry bunch of losers went on shooting for their lowly second and third place finishes while I just strutted around with a smile on my face. It was a good day.

Way to go! Now stop talking and fill it up!
Last week end my club had its winter fun shoot...novelty targets at 25 yards. I happily walked away with a ham after shooting "the head" off of the rattlesnake...twice! It was blustery and about 23 degrees here.

Meat prizes are great, last October I took 3rd at this same club and won a what is called a marinated turkey tenderloin.

Nice! During a rendezvous last summer I participated in a 50 and 100 yard bench gun match and sqeaked out a 2nd place, they were paper targets. When I shoot 100 targets during matches my groups look like a shotgun blast.

It was 19 degrees with a 10-15 mph wind out of the West, the range faces West, it was only 4 paper targets 5 shots each 25 yrd only. There were about 20 shooters total. I used my 50 Thompson Hawken 30gr of Triple 7 with .015 wonder lube patches and hand casted .490 balls.
Congrats! Did you swab between shots?
