Nice LR that has some features of a Bucks County. If that's a "White Lightning" liner and if it's installed properly, the TH land length should be right around a 1/32" and I drill them out to .067" {#51 drill} for fast, reliable ignition.....Fred

I agree with the person who earlier said to enlarge the vent gradually. There are a number of bits available between 1/16" and 5/64". If 1/16 doesn't turn your crank you can sneak up on your reliability with numbered bits from any good hardware.

Earlier I said I had a "pipe cleaner rule". I don't think generally that bigger vents are needed for good ignition; I like the ability to use pipe cleaners for clean with. I've used a #52, and #51. I think a #52 bit works with pipe cleaners. If a 5/64" vent is needed for good ignition, make sure there isn't some other problem.

Have not had a chance to shoot the rifle yet maybe this weekend. To answer an earlier reply it does have a liner it is just filed or milled close to the barrel. If you could see it in person you can see the round outline of a liner. You can kinda see it on the the picture, bottom right corner.

That touch hole is probably fine as is. I have .45, .50 and .54 flintlocks. They all go off very quickly with 3F. If a 1/16" drill bit will fit into the vent, I replace the vent. I'd shoot it awhile before messing with it. I'll bet it shoots just fine. Remember, when priming the pan, less is more.
