Hey all,
I am looking for recommendations on a traditional tow worm and ball puller combo tool. I saw some at the Lexington CLA show and didn’t spend the cabbage. Now wishing I had. Didn’t get a business card or name.
So I am wanting this for my 20/.62
PA Fowler. Thinking I would like to clean with tow vers jag.
Any recommendations?
Aaron

This is a two and one made by D Fruth Flintlocks. I may reach out to him. Would like some other options..

I bought a couple of those tip from Dan. Really top notch and nicely made. His sizes though, are based on a tapered ramrod. So if you buy one oh his 3/8” tips, it’s actually a lot smaller than you would think: It’s made for a 3/8” rod that has already been tapered down.

He will, though, make any of his ends to your spec, and they are really top shelf handmade parts.

That’s good to know!! My fowling rod is a 3/8 with a taper. So the metal ramrod end is a 1/4” diameter. I wasn’t seeing a phone number listed for him….i would rather call than email. I’m a young guy for this form, but I would still much rather have a conversation than an email.

I missed that he had a combo tool! It looks like it only has one tine on the tow worm. Many I have seen have two tines. Never having used one before my question is dose it matter?
I have one with 2 tines from Smiling Fox Forge and one with 1 from Muzzleloader builder supply (modern $4 version). I prefer the hand forged one with 2 tines (it's hand forged and traditional looking) but the single holds the ball of TOW just fine.
