Trade Gun Lock

Stamped GRF or TRF. Ad says Italian. Any idea who made this lock?

I also have one of those GRF NW trade guns with the Italian made lock. I asked about this on several forums, but no one seemed to know who made it. A few attributed it to Navy Arms, an import obviously. However, by polishing its innards and shimming the frizzen, I got it to work flawlessly.

The first rule in tuning any old lock is to do no harm, polishing and oiling is about all I have to do. There is an old saying that goes "If it ain't broke, we will fix it until it is".
