What little research I did on North Star was that Mr. Gostomski passed away and his wife sold the company to guys in the Northwest, so it became North Star West. He was a tool-n-die maker I read, and I would always be interested in any info on the North Star guns. Mine seems to want a true .690 ball with 15th patch, but haven't shot it yet. 42-1/2" bbl., very light at 6-1/2 lbs. Nice turned tapered hickory rod w/ brass tip.The pedi trade gun has several points wrong, and I don’t know why. That said it’s a good looking gun.
Think of a Indian gun as a kit. It has to be twiked but also turns out a good looking gun.
A kit from a reputable company can turn out the best, as North Star quit.
