Write your legislation if you have not done so & write them often if you have already. Get others to write them.
Get behind politicals that share the view of tradtional seasons.
All it really takes is to get things on a voter ballot and enough folks to get out and vote. Sure money is a big incentive but not stronger that the popular vote.
From a financial perspective, as long as the states are not loosing money on a rule change, then the initiative stands a better chance.
Even though I don't own a Flintlock-yet, I am very much in favor of iron sights Flintlock, Black Powder (no substitutes) & PRB/conical hunting seasons.
I've already been writing letters to my legislation here in Michigan over the past couple of years.
In Michigan, I'd love to see a "primitive" Flintlock firearm 7-10 day deer season before the regular firearm season begins on November 15-30. I think if the number of tags (Michigan currently has two buck tags for firearm) remain the same and we are just adding in a season, the possibility of getting a "primitive" ML season is much better.
I don't see any functional difference between percussion sidelocks and inlines ML's. Just because the nipple is arranged differently in relation to the barrel is not different in function. Still using a cap. :imo: I have several of each.
Flintlocks on the other hand are a true primitive firearm weapon in my view with much more difficulty and variability.
I'm looking forward to my first ever flintlock after over 30 years of ML's. Just trying to figure out which style I would like to get.
Likely either a Plains/Trade/Hawken or Pennsylvania/Kentucky Style.. Or both.
