So I am re browning the barrel on Blonde, and don't like the sights, the old Marbles are missing the white front bead, and there's nothing out there right how in stock. But I've found a set of fixed traditional set that will work. But never sighted in a rifle using them, after looking at a number of original guns, both front and rear are small ! So do you cut in the notch on the rear with a hack saw blade or file down the front ? I know it depends on where its hitting. Pro and cons on the use?

Just make sure you get a tall enough front site and file down from there. You may want to order another set so you have options.

Ya Deer Creek is my go to, Evil-Bay is where the fix set of sights are. The HRS by L & R but its a bit elaborate for my taste, but shot them off an email to see if I couuld fit it to a metric slot. If someone has one they would part with, I would be up for it.

To your question about how to sight in traditional iron sights. The front sight is usually left tall to start with. If the rear is not cut for a notch you may choose to cut a square bottom notch with a hacksaw or jewelers saw. You will then need to clean it up with a side cut file. I prefer to use a triangular file to file a V notch. Then start shooting. Once you have your preferred load, then you start filing down the front sight to bring your POI up. Assuming you were shooting low due to the tall front sight.

I just found an adjustable set @ GunWorks in Springfield OR, shipping was dear to say the least ! /www.thegunworks.com
