For $45 it look's pretty good.

Honestly, I wouldn't buy it.
But, that's my opinion. You might like it and get years of use from the kit.
Here are my thoughts.
You apparently already have a starter or just don't need one.
The "universal pick tool" is goofy, over-engineered, not H/C, and may or may not work. A short piece of 12ga or 14ga copper wire sharpened on the end and a loop bent in the other end is free and works great.
A straightened paper clip also will do the trick as will any number of things.
I had one of those priming things and it was way more trouble than it was worth. You can prime from your main horn or a small priming horn with less problems.
Which brings me to the flask. A good horn just works better. Doesn't have to be expensive to be good. Track of the Wolf has some decent ones at reasonable prices.
If you don't already have an adjustable powder measure then you do need that.
I'd just buy the powder measure.
Your mileage may vary.
But, that's my opinion. You might like it and get years of use from the kit.

Well I need a powder flask, pan dispenser and measure, thats really it. Over here the kit has gone to $60ca, 52 last week (cabelas.ca).

A horn isn't included in the kit, so decide on either a horn or a flask....
a pan primer is nice....But not a necessity.

I have boxes of useless junk I purchased moons ago...Thinking I needed it.
P.S. Cabelas is not the worlds foremost leading muzzleloading outfitter....they are one step above Walmart.

If you don't mind buying the rest in pieces, I have a smaller horn with the spring loaded spout on it you can have. Will likely hold at least as much as the flask. I'm over in the Crowsnest.
Track of The Wolf is good to deal with.
Haven't mail ordered from them but check out The Gun Works in Eugene, Oregon as well. Stopped in on a trip through a couple months ago, was very happy with my purchases.

Powder is released by depressing the nozzle.
I've been using one like that for at least 30 years....Just remember to put a little beeswax on those brass threads.

Just My two cents, but all of the "gear" in the starter kit is probably stuff you will outgrow sooner than later. I started with one of those kits, caught the flintlock bug and wanted the stuff everyone else had. for $100 you can get the same stuff in the kit but in better quality and more "authentic" . hell as stated before some you can make yourself!

I wouldn't waste the money... Traditions stuff is far from traditional or quality.
However you reserve the right to do as you wish.
The tradition is making and using the gear YOU need. So many people have lost sight of doing things themselves and turn to the endless availability of mass produced goods.
Take a trek into the forest, I'm sure you can find many materials to produce some of your very own top quality gear. From dropped antlers, downed hardwoods, bone, you name it I bet you will find it. :hatsoff:
However you reserve the right to do as you wish.
