You can either add to the front sight or file down the rear sight. Of the two options, it will be easier to file down ther rear sight. But, how much do you need to file it down? Well, you need three measurements. First, you need to accurately measure from the rear sight to the front sight in inches. Then you need the distance in inches from the muzzle to the target (that is 900 inchers for 25 yards). Lastly, you need to determine just how much you need to move your POI. Now, divide the distance from your front sight to you rear sight by the distance to the target. You take that number and multiply it by how many inches you want to move your POI. YOu will end up with the amount that you need to remove from your rear sight to get your POI where you want it.
Here's an example:
Let's assume that your front to rear sight measurement is 9 3/4 inches and your POI is 3 inches high at 25 yards. So, we just do the simple math:
9.75/900=0.01083 Now, we multiply that number by how much you want to move your POI (3 inches)
0.01083 X 3= 0.03249 That means that you will need to remove 325 thousandths (0.0325 inches) off your rear sight.
NOTICE: Don't use my figures, because they are only an example to show you how to do the math. You will need to use your own measurements to determine how much you need to take off your rear sight.
