There pre-cut stock leaves some to be desired in workmanship. There sights are a freagan joke. Make your own of buy replacements as the back was plastic and I think I heard the front maybe as well!

You will have to do the work to figure out how many grains of powder and what the gun likes. If you do this and you can shoot. The gun will do it's part!

I will try and show you some photos if I can get them from the pirate PHOTOBUCKET!!!

Paper punching. I am going to a land without so many game animals, Las Vegas. Otherwise I'd try my hand at deer hunting. I've already harvested a bore but with a modern gun (designed in the 1890s though!) but always wanted to hunt like the old timers did with muzzleloaders.

But yeah I'd just be using it for paper. I do have a Lyman Great Plains .54 caliber and it's been great, but I was wanting something to stay back home when I come to visit.

forgot to tell you the 1:48 will shoot 95 grains of 2F and punch them in the same hole with a patched ball!

Now I said the 1:48 will shoot 95 grains, no problem but your shoulder may not want too! :rotf:

Very cool, very cool. Just not much online about this new Traditions gun. Review lean towards positive with some comments on the fit and finish, which is understandable given the price point. If the gun has the capability to group well and doesn't have any major breakage problems it might be the one, especially at this sale price at Midway.

The sights on the Traditions mountain rifle are plastic??

If so, I'm sorry but that's a deal killer. There should be no plastic parts on a traditional style muzzleloader IMHO. Are you sure they are in fact plastic?

I decided to pass on this one, guys. I did my research and read nothing but bad things about Tradition's customer service. When I buy a gun I like to know the factory will take care of any issues it might have, well apparently many people have had issues and the factory totally blew them off.

So that cost that company a sale, if anyone is reading who works at Traditions.

Bout a year ago I bid on and was awarded a .50 traditions tennesee wth a 1/32 twist barrel. I didnt believe it was a 1/32 as I had not heard of that but it arrived and itwas. I called traditions CS and was very pleased with the service as hey researched and found me a 1/66 barrel for the gun for $132.00 (I do need to buy it soon).

So theres a vote for them. ALOT of the results one gets from any CS organization begins with the callers attitude. They dont pay enough to go off on em and get good service :idunno:

i thought some onewould get the mag. and read the review.
well it got good review. no plastic sights. very close to the cva mountiam rifle. it has a thicker wrist. even the flibt worked good. none of the problems that others have lemented here.

I see. Also someone is saying the "iron" mountings are actually brass or zinc that have been painted over with cerakote. Yeah, bet that will look real great in a few years time. The more I dig the less I am compelled to buy one.
